SFI is an experienced fabricator of industrial, food grade, and pristine vessels including pressure vessels, mixers, reactors, and storage tanks. Depending on the dimensions, tanks up to 60,000 gallons can be built in our shop. A variety of heating and cooling surfaces are available in either single wall or insulated with outer jacket configurations. Material finishes include high polish (#4), electropolish to 10 Ra, and 2B/mill.
SFI craftsmen are highly skilled at the job they do. They have the experience necessary to produce a high quality product with skills ranging from blueprint reading, using a variety of measurement tools, manual and automated welding and grinding, and operation of high-tech automated equipment. Using our own highly skilled personnel, SFI field crews erect tanks on-site with capacities exceeding 600,000 gallons (approx. 60' dia).
Our unique fabrication method allows the crew to work in confined areas such as under a roof or in tight surroundings with limited access. The assembly process takes place at ground level, which typically eliminates the need for scaffolding and cranes, resulting in a safe and efficient jobsite and high quality workmanship.
Tank/Vessels up to 600,000 gallons
Unique "top down" fabrication method allows crew to work at ground level
To provide the cleanest environment possible, SFI has a 15,000 square foot segregated bay that is dedicated to biopharmaceutical vessels. All phases of production from shear and brake, welding and grinding, electropolish finishing, testing, and shipping are performed in this area of the plant.
State-of-the-art equipment is used to perform 5-stage electropolish finishing. The electropolish vat is designed to accommodate components of varying size. Oversize components such as heads and larger assembled vessels are finished outside the vat using special fixtures and equipment designed specifically for this purpose. (Maximum tank size is approximately 12' diameter or 80,000 liters.)
SFI has a mixing solution for whatever you're batching. We offer mixers or combinations of mixers for processing a wide variety of viscosities and applications.
Mixer Types:
Axial Turbine—Blend fluids or suspend solids
Radial—Introduce a gas into liquid (carbonation)
Rotational—Sweep or scrape type
Counter Rotating—Combines axial turbine and rotational mixers in one vessel
Universal Mixer—Combines offset vertical axial turbine and rotational mixers
SFI fabricates pressure vessels and reactors to meet ASME code. Our engineering staff designs the vessel per the customer supplied specification. A wide variety of materials are offered including 300 series stainless steel and other nickel based alloys such as Hastelloy and 2205 duplex steel. Heat transfer surfaces include dimple jacket, half pipe, and internal pipe coil.
Reactor material: 300 Series Stainless Steel, Alloy 20, Hastalloy, Duplex, 220S, Monel, Inconel, Incoloy and others
Finishes: 2B/mill, high polish (#4), and electropolish (to 10 Ra)
Transfer surfaces: dimple jacket, half pipe, and internal pipe coil
SFI is a custom fabricator, highly experienced in building stainless steel storage tanks in both the shop and field. Shop built tanks up to 60,000 gallons. Field erected tanks up to 600,000 gallons. Single or double wall (and insulated) with heat transfer surfaces including dimple jacket, half pipe and internal pipe coils. Materials of construction include 304L, 316L and high alloys in sheet and plate. Finishes offered are 2B/mill, high polish (#4), and electropolish (to 10 Ra). API 620, API 650, ASME.
